Happy Thanksgiving Rojo

Foster mom reporting that Rojo (aka RoeRoe) had a wonderful Thanksgiving. She had a little shredded turkey in her dish and lots of play time outside as it was a spectacular day! She is getting more beautiful and loving every day. She has filled out just a little and her fur is coming in soft like a bunny. She loves to come to me for hugs and rubs. She will stand there with her tail going like a helicopter. She has learned to tell me when she wants to go our and has the cutest little bark to do so. More like a little 'yip' like she doesn't want to be too loud or obnoxious. She is feeling very confident around the household sounds and activities now although she isn't fond of the vacuum and Roe has been great with all the visiting dogs I have for the holidays. I haven't gotten any pics yet, every time I see a 'kodak moment' I don't have the camera - so still trying to get them for you.

If you are looking for a petite little beauty - please ask about our Roe!

More Info

Rojo reminded me that I didn't include some important information. Sorry Roe!

She reminds me that she does the stairs like a pro - she goes right up them and comes down more like a bunny than a dog but she gets the job done. She hasn't met the kitty yet but she is looking forward to that experience as well - so keep tuned, and her picture doesn't do her justice. She is just a beautiful little strawberry blonde with striking coloring around her eyes. Hopefully I can capture that in my pictures later.

Rojo is settling into Foster

Rojo came to stay with me on Sunday and it was a BIG BIG day for her! So many new sights, sounds and sniffs to be done. Bill brought her to me and he reports that she rode well in the car, even laying down for part of the ride. Once she was home it was the process of walking her around the back yard to introduce her to the pool. She understood the pool right away - didn't even have to fall in first - a big plus!! Next she was introduced to all the dogs. Everyone is getting along well so that is working out as well. Rojo is friendly with the other dogs, she has no problem wanting to share a dog bed - and nobody wants that but her so there is a little learning curve going on there. Next in the house to check out everything. She has no problem on the wood floors and we are working on a counter surfing issue. Although the counter trap didn't scare her at all, a firm NO is working well and after only 1 day she hasn't tried to get things on the counter. She is still looking and sniffing and we are working on that now. Her favorite discovery - Stuffies!!!! She is never without a squeaky toy - and squeaks and squeaks and squeaks! She can even carry it around and squeak it with a muzzle on.

The next discovery - the TV. Well, that was quite the issue for awhile. Once I turned on the TV she refused to come in the room and stood in the hallway and barked at it. It took most of the evening before she would come back in the living room. Now last night she had no problem with the TV being on. This is one of the wonderful things about being a foster, you get to see all the little things you take for granted through the eyes of the new little one. Most things are wonderful and you can see the wonder on her little face. Rojo is adapting quickly to all the changes.

Rojo responds quickly to correction and direction and is very food motivated - I think she would be a great candidate for training with Jen B.

In the next few days I hope to get some video of her play time in the yard with a toy so be sure and visit again to see all her antics and for updates.

Roo Hoo for RoJo

Ignore that scrape on her nose, it will heal. She's a sweetheart from the word GO! This girl LOVES the tennis ball and ear scritches and can't decide which she likes better. She's a snuggly bundle of love who will reteive as long as you throw. Kids will love this dog because she's ready to play.
